Mitcham’s Corner is the area around the junction of Chesterton Road with Victoria Avenue, Victoria Road and Milton Road, just north of the river Cam. It’s home to a growing number of fantastic independents including the irrepressible Thirsty Cambridge, making this particular corner of CB4 a real indie destination.
Indie drinks shop and bar, Thirsty Cambridge, aims to do things a bit differently – even (some might say) revolutionary, with wine categorised by style rather than country and a packed weekly schedule of visiting street food traders pulling up outside. As well as wine, Thirsty have Hot Numbers coffee, ciders and craft beer in bottles and refills.
The energetic Thirsty team have also recently launched a new, German-style biergarten venue 'Thirsty Riverside' at the Cambridge Museum of Technology (just along the river from Midsummer Common). Craft beer, wine, spirits and softs will be German-led (of course), and there’s also Prosecco and Provencal rose, music and all your favourite Cambridge food trucks! If that wasn’t enough there’s a monthly farmers' market at the same site. Time to join the revolution!
